As a series well-known for drop-in midsole, Wade 808 series has garnered a loyal following for its exceptional quality and trendsetting designs, solidifying its position as a must-have in any sneaker collection. The name “808” originated from the drum machine, Roland TR-808, one of the most influential inventions in popular music. If we compare a basketball team to a band, we can easily see the similarities and connections between Dwyane Wade and Roland TR-808: both considered the leader in their field. Evolved now to its third iteration, Wade 808 3 series is divided into four branches: Wade 808 3, Wade 808 3 Ultra, Wade 808 3 Ultra V2, and Wade 808 3 Ultra V2 Low. Thus, in this article, we’ll walk you through these four branches one by one, explore the upgrades of sneaker technology between branches, and get a whole picture of our released colorways.  

WADE 808 3 SERIES

Compared with Wade 808 2 series, Wade 808 3 series boasts significant upgrades that enhance performance and style. The standout feature of 808 3 series is the forefoot BOOM technology incorporated into the CLOUD PLUS midsole, providing increased springiness when starting and improved cushioning upon landing. Additionally, the outsole pattern has been updated from flowery water-ripple to "W", ensuring consistent grip and durability. Other sneaker technologies of Wade 808 3 series remain consistent with the 808 2 series, including the Li-Ning CLOUD PLUS drop-in midsole and PROBAR LOC stabilizer. The four distinctive colorways, "Quicksilver," "Chemical Reaction," "Family Love," and "Dark Flow", showcase unique embellishments on the tongue and pull-tab, offering Team Wade members and guests with a versatile and stylish array of choices.

WADE 808 3 ULTRA SERIES

Wade 808 3 Ultra series marks a major advancement over the original Wade 808 3 series, featuring a full-length BOOM midsole, carbon-fiber plates, and TUFF OS outsole. Distinguishing itself from the forefoot BOOM design found in the Wade 808 3 series, which was built upon the CLOUD PLUS midsole, Wade 808 3 Ultra series boasts a full-length BOOM midsole that allows for enhanced energy storage and rebound, enabling superior jumping performance. The carbon-fiber plates on the outsole and outer side of the shoe provide exceptional vertical support, preventing sprains and rollover while offering superior stability. Furthermore, the TUFF OS outsole material is engineered to be five times more durable than regular rubber materials, making it a notable upgrade over the outsole of Wade 808 3 series. Colorways in this series include "Energy", "Chemical Reaction", "Oxygen", "Nightlight", "Family Love", "Morning Sun", "Dreamer", and a collaboration with French artist Cyril titled "Cyril x Wade 808 3 Ultra SE Dreamer".

WADE 808 3 ULTRA V2 SERIES

Wade 808 3 Ultra V2 series stands out with its double lockdown, courtesy of the high-top design and wires on the toebox. Unlike its low-top counterparts in Wade 808 3 series and Wade 808 3 Ultra series, the high-top design of Wade 808 3 Ultra V2 series provides enhanced ankle support. The wires attached to the shoe laces on the toebox allow for easy adjustment of the fit and lacing system, resulting in a snug, wrap-up feel and maximum security during explosive movements. The rest of the package remains unchanged, with the same drop-in full-length BOOM midsole, TUFF OS outsole, and carbon-fiber plates that deliver top-notch performance in cushioning, durability, and traction. Wade 808 3 Ultra V2 series is available in five colorways: "Year of the Dragon", "Triple White", "Team No Sleep", "Tour", and "Lavender".

WADE 808 3 ULTRA V2 LOW SERIES

Wade 808 3 Ultra V2 series and Wade 808 3 Ultra V2 Low series share several similarities, but a key distinction lies in the design of the shoe top. The primary difference between the two series is the flexibility around the ankle area, with Wade 808 3 Ultra V2 Low series offering greater flexibility compared to its high-top counterpart. Despite this difference, both models feature robust lockdown on the forefoot, thanks to the use of wires attached to shoe laces on the toebox. It is possible that some consumers may find it challenging to distinguish between Wade 808 3 Ultra series and Wade 808 3 Ultra V2 Low series due to their similar aesthetic design. However, a simple way to identify a Wade 808 3 Ultra V2 Low series shoe is to look for the presence of wires on the toebox. This distinctive feature is a characteristic of all shoes within the Wade 808 3 Ultra V2 series, regardless of whether they are high-top or low-top. "Spectra" and "Morning Sun" are two colorways in Wade 808 3 Ultra V2 Low series.
